CALIFORNIA: Children Can Now ‘Aid, Advise And Encourage’ Their Parents Into Killing Themselves

“Dad, call Dr. Kevorkian.”

In the once golden state of California, children can “aid, advise and encourage” their parents into killing themselves thanks to a new bill signed into law by Jerry Brown as part of the newly-minted assisted suicide law.

According to LifeNews, SB 282 gives people the freedom to essentially convince loved ones that assisted suicide is the best option if they are terminally ill. Impatient about an inheritance? “Dad, call Dr. Kevorkian.” Hospital bills going up? “Mom, here’s a brochure.” Tired of taking care of them? “Hey, it’s quick and painless.”

The bill’s legalization comes on the heels of Gov. Jerry Brown signing into law the California’s End of Life Option Act, which legalized assisted suicide. Despite opposition from Life Legal, the bill has largely gone unchallenged thanks to California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, a man who “charged David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt with 15 felony counts” for exposing Planned Parenthood’s role in the sale of fetal body parts obtained during abortions.

“California’s assisted suicide law allows ‘interested’ witnesses, which include beneficiaries, to sign a person’s request for assisted suicide drugs,” reports LifeNews. “The new law allows an individual to aid, advise, and encourage a person to commit suicide-AND sign off on the method of suicide-while financially benefitting from the person’s death.”

Family members who “encourage” the terminally ill into killing themselves will be granted full legal immunity, regardless of their motives for doing so. The patient would have to explicitly state in their will that any family member who encourages assisted suicide are to receive nothing.
