The art of the Australian Patricia Piccinini stands for representing sculptures of bizarre creatures or humans in unconventional situations. The work of the artist is made using fiberglass and silicone, which gives it a hyper-realistic tone that can cause anyone to be transported into the artist’s universe.
Now the works of the Australian will be on display at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brazil in Sao Paulo, from October 12. The show takes the name of Com-Science and will be the artist’s first solo exhibition in the country.
Although many of the beings portrayed by her are grotesque, the looks of the sculptures are soft, avoiding the public to be scared of them and sharpen the curiosity of those who see them. The images below are just examples of what you can find there:
