This explosion may have been caused by a planted FOAB which is a thermobaric weapon which is primarily a liquid explosive. When the weapon hits, the first explosion diffuses the fuel into the air. This is then followed by a second explosion that ignites the widely dispersed fuel creating a massive pressure wave with a HUGE light show.
