Did the British press ‘warn’ about the PIZZAGATE scandal in advance by calling it ‘fake’?

US election: Hillary Clinton campaign warns ‘whopping’ Wikileaks release could hit on voting day

Ms Clinton’s spokesperson has slammed the release before it has been made public

Hillary Clinton’s campaign has suggested that a “whopper” of a Wikileaks release about its candidate is about to be released.

Ms Clinton’s campaign has moved to slam any release that comes out in the days of the US election, even before that release has been made public. Wikileaks hasn’t denied that any release is coming.

“Friends, please remember that if you see a whopper of a Wikileaks in next two days – it’s probably a fake,” Clinton’s communications director Jennifer Palmieri wrote on Twitter.

It isn’t clear whether Ms Palmieri is available of any specific release or if any will definitely drop. But it would be a continuation of Wikileaks’ involvement in the US election, the most high-profile of which has been the leaks of campaign director John Podesta’s personal emails.

Wikileaks has responded to Ms Palmieri’s tweet on its own Twitter account. It didn’t dispute that it was planning a release but said that anything it did put out would be genuine, making reference to what it claimed was its “perfect record”.

The Clinton campaign hasn’t verified the authenticity of any of the Podesta emails that Wikileaks has already released. It has accused the Russians of being behind the hack, but also suggested that not all of them may be genuine.

The Podesta emails have driven many of the biggest stories around the election, including excerpts from Ms Clinton’s previously secret speeches to Wall Street as well as more frivolous revelations like the campaign’s work with Blink 182’s Tom Delonge to find aliens.
