Make Austro-Hungary Great Again: Orban Unofficially Endorses Trump, Austrians Reject TTIP Ahead of October 2nd Elections

Back on July 27, a few days after Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban became the first and thus far only European Union head  of state to unofficially endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States, RogueMoney’s Deb “BanksterSlayer” Caruthers published an article titled, “Fortress Europe Awakens“. In that article @BanksterSlayer touched on many of the same themes we’ve discussed the internal political struggle, which might even be called a Cold Civil War underway in Germany and other key European nations between Atlanticists loyal to Washington above all and those nationalists or at least pragmatists willing to go their own way.

This past week the French and German governments began to ‘put their cards on the table’ with respect to the geopolitical turn to the East that many new media analysts ranging from Dr. Jim Willie the Golden Jackass to The Guerrilla Economist to Benjamin Fulford had predicted. As Wolf Gray said in his article published this week at RogueMoney, the smoke signals are blowing to the east across Eurasia. Consider this past week when President Barack Obama was snubbed by the Chinese before the start of the G20 in Hangzhou. A Chinese official also berated Obama’s National Security Advisor Susan “blame the Benghazi attack on a stupid fake video” Rice for walking through a media rope line, telling one of her aides “This is our country, this is our airport, ok?”. As retired DIA analyst/Army Col. Patrick Lang noted at his Turcopolier blog, expressing contempt for the lame duck Obama and his entourage is contagious — the Chinese snub came days after the Turks snubbed Obama’s vice president Joe Biden by greeting him with the vice mayor of the Turkish capitol Ankara during his visit to Turkey.

@zerohedge Well, the fact the opinion made it out and was seen proves there is hope for the DIA.

The primary method for Paris and Berlin to send signals to Washington heretofore has been words, not actions — though both France and Germany signed up for China’s International Monetary Fund-replacing Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) as soon as they could. In rejecting the TransAtlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), the ugly sister to the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP – aka the Toilet Paper Protocols), the French and Germans finally demonstrated considerable backbone on an issue Washington had been forcing upon them against their people’s will. And not just in the passive aggressive sort of ways that the French and Germans have been undermining Washington’s proxy war with Russia via Ukraine through leaks to Der Spiegel and the seemingly endless Minsk 2 negotiations.

For once, the Franco-German axis at the heart of the European Union, without lame duck Chancellor Angela Merkel, flat out declared the TTIP dead on arrival through the end of Obama’s term. Unless Hillary Clinton is elected President and immediately betrays her promises to organized labor to renegotiate or block the pact, TTIP (pronounced tee-tip) is dead and buried. Even assuming the election of Hildabeast, the populist and business elites’ backlash against trying to push through a repackaged version in the dead of night would be fierce if not insurmountable. The Atlanticist Pact/Borgist Establishment’s triumph would be short lived. Since as we wrote last week defiance on the part of European politicians against the fast-fading Hegemon’s will is contagious, and since Germans and Austrians have been joined at the hip since before the German confederations united into an empire under Chancellor Otto von Bismarck in 1871, Austria being the next domino to fall on the TTIP funeral pyre is hardly surprising.

AUSTRIA: Top Pollster Predicts Anti-Mass Immigration Candidate From #FPO Will Win In New Presidential Election http://t.co/ncoORxpOYJ

As Ken Shortgen Jr. wrote on September 3 for his To the Death Media column, Austria’s ruling SPÖ coalition, facing a big victory for the right wing Freedom Party (FPÖ) in October’s constitutional court ordered re-vote, is bowing to overwhelming populist opposition to TTIP:

“It appears that the shift by Europe as a whole over the past few years to start rejecting policies coming out of Washington such as the TTIP trade agreement is in large part due to the growing uneasiness by the European people who are not only rebelling against globalism, but also calling for a return to individual sovereign control over their futures. And in fact, the TTIP is not the only new policy being opposed by individuals on the continent as demands for the EU to reject the importing and use of GMO products have led millions to take to the streets to show their support against these types of corporate takeovers.

Both TPP and TTIP are last ditch efforts by the elite to bring the West into a position where they have to give up their sovereignty to live under the rule of corporations that would reside outside the law, and outside national oversight. But with each of these trade agreements being created in secret, and hidden from both the people and most legislators who are not allowed to even know what is in the treaty they would be signing, it is becoming too much for the citizens of Europe to take, as in each passing day another EU country is publicly rejecting the trade agreement, making it now appear dead on arrival.

Think Brexit was a sea change? It won’t be close to the referendum in Europe not being talked about http://t.co/QtuX86dhtE

As we wrote in our previous RogueMoney piece examining Austrian politics in depth, there is a strong relationship between the Freedom Party which is poised to win power in Vienna and the well-entrenched Fidesz ruling party of Hungary, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban. This is not only owing to geographic and financial/economic proximity between Budapest and Vienna, but also the historic ties between the two ancient central European capitols which for centuries formed part of the (Catholic) Holy Roman and later Hapsburg Empires. Shared Hapsburg and post-Communist histories have also brought the Hungarians closer together to the Poles. In recent months Warsaw has joined with Budapest via the Visegrad bloc within the EU to successfully defy Brussels’ mandate to accept more Syrian and Iraqi refugees or else face daily fines for every migrant they refuse to accept.

The speech we quoted from in the introduction to this piece was delivered by Orban on March 15, 2016, upon the anniversary of the 1848 uprising for Hungarian independence from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which ultimately fell apart after World War One. While groomed by various State Department linked academic mentors at Johns Hopkins University in the traditional manner of many anti-Communist dissidents to become a post-1991 leader of ‘New Europe’, Orban’s rightward nationalist turn has disappointed and angered his former handlers. Most particularly his determination that Hungary ‘does not need one single [Muslim] migrant’ and fingering of billionaire currency manipulator George Soros have antagonized Washington’s globalists.

Naming and shaming Soros as the arch-globalist nexus at the heart of a network of G-NGOs used as fronts by intelligence agencies and to undermine national sovereignty from Bangkok to Budapest is a no-no for Washington’s Atlanticists. So too, is naming their ideology as the enemy of self-determination and free peoples that it is. Worst of all is endorsing Donald Trump or slamming Hillary Clinton’s immigration policies as like Merkel’s, putting Orban in the same camp of ‘enemies’ or ‘useful idiots for Putin’ in the CFR crowd’s minds as former UKIP leader Nigel Farage and Marine Le Pen of the French National Front.

Therefore it’s not surprising to see the Intercept magazine speculate on whether Orban will invite Donald Trump to meet him in Budapest ahead of the election, as The Donald seeks to look more presidential and demonstrate his diplomatic capabilities after a successful joint press conference with the far less friendly President of Mexico:

Fox News: The Republican nominee says Mexico and the United States must end illegal immigration from Central and South America

“HAVING SUCCESSFULLY HOGGED the media spotlight for a day with his surprise trip to Mexico City this week, Donald Trump might now be scanning the globe for another foreign capital to visit. If so, don’t be surprised to see Trump Force One landing soon in Budapest, and being greeted warmly by Hungary’s prime minister, Viktor Orban.

Twice in recent weeks, Orban has effectively endorsed Trump, praising the American’s anti-immigrant rhetoric, aimed particularly at Muslims, as in keeping with the Hungarian leader’s own efforts to seal his country’s southern border with a wall and to block the resettlement of Syrian refugees in order “to keep Europe Christian.”

Hungary is even holding a Brexit-inspired referendum on immigration policy next month, which will most likely give Orban’s government a mandate to reject the European Union’s plan to compel the country to accept about 1,200 refugees. And last week, as the Hungarian journalist Szabolcs Panyi noted, the prime minister announced plans to build “a more massive defense system” on Hungary’s border with Serbia to reinforce the tall fence erected last year to block migrants seeking refuge from war and poverty.

Half of #Germans open to EU exit, 2/3 for ousting #Merkel http://t.co/0URh6Eg2Gb pic.twitter.com/53XE1UQqKa

Tired of Mutti’s multi-culti open borders Germany, some hard working middle-aged Germans are selling their properties in their country and relocating to Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s borders-defending state of Hungary.

From Trump’s point of view, The Donald loves winners and loathes losers — and Angela Merkel the D.C. Establishment’s gal in Berlin is definitely a loser, including in her home state/lander of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Trump has absorbed the speech from the opening of the 1970 movie Patton with George C. Scott proclaiming that Americans love a winner, and will not tolerate a loser. Trump has already shared a stage in Mississippi with Nigel Farage while calling himself “Mr. Brexit”. The upcoming referendum in Hungary on whether to accept or reject the EU’s migrant quota demands is almost certain to end in a resounding win for Orban. After the Freedom Party was denied victory through thousands of fraudulent mail-in absentee ballots, the high court-ordered revote is set to be held on October 2nd — the same day Orban has chosen for his referendum on migrant quotas across the Austro-Hungarian border.

Thus the Donald just might find a short trip to the blue Danube worth his time after the late September presidential debate/s, particularly to congratulate Orban on the Hungarian people’s rejection of Brussels mandate, and thereby rub the pro-EU Atlanticists’ noses in ‘the Trump-ening’ of Europe. It’s an interesting move that may or may not come to pass as The Intercept (owned by secular Muslim Iranian magnate Pierre Omidyar) speculates, but which would ironically confirm a sort of nationalist international. Not the imaginary ‘white supremacist’ cabal run by the dark lord of the Kremlin Vladimir Putin that Hillary Clinton described in her tinfoilhat speech the other day in Reno, Nevada, but a real voluntary association between American and European leaders seeking to defend the Global North aka the remnants of Western civilization.
